Editorial policy
Who writes, who checks, and what happens when we get something wrong.
Who writes
Every review and comparison page shows its author, the person who checked the content and the last update date. The bottom of the page links to the methodology used.
Who sets the score
No person sets the ranking; the scoring engine produces it. The editorial team's only input to the score is the components explicitly defined as editorial — the provider assessment and transparency. Those two values are recorded separately and the audit log shows who gave what to which provider.
A relationship with a provider does not change content
A provider buying a paid listing does not change its ranking. Paid placement only shows as a "Sponsored" label, and that label sits on the card itself, never next to the score.
When a mistake is found
When we find a wrong number or claim we correct it and make the correction visible. We do not change things silently. Providers can also open a data-correction request; the request comes with an evidence link and is reviewed by a human. An accepted correction stays in the record as "at whose request, with what evidence".
Things we do not do
- We publish no fabricated user reviews or fake testimonials.
- We do not present the unmeasured as measured; where there is no data, it says "measurement being collected".
- We do not mark the editorial score up for search engines as if it were a starred user rating.
- We do not lift a paying provider above a non-paying one with better measurements.
